The Officers and Trustee of the AIA Architect League of Northern New Jersey invite you to March presentation on the topic on Environmental, Social, Governance

Description:
ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) seems to be the latest acronym tormenting AEC design professionals.  The ‘E’ pulls in the environmental sustainability that’s an integral part of our profession and the ‘S’ draws from the health and wellness aspects of design and construction that exploded during the pandemic.  Governance is tied to how companies are run but does it really impact our work?  Join this presentation to get a better understanding of ESG and how it ties into project design and client expectations.   Engage in discussion to explore how ESG considerations affect how we run our businesses and engage with our clients.

Learning Objectives
1. Find out what ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) is, understand where it came from and why design professionals should care about it.
2. Learn how design professionals can support client ESG and sustainability goals.  Get tips on what we should be thinking about during the design process and learn about real-world examples of implementation.
3. Think about why design professionals should develop internal ESG programs and goals and hear some ideas on how to get started.
4. Consider if ESG is here to stay and how “green hushing” might affect the future of sustainable design.
