ALNNJ Scholarships
AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey offers scholarships for current college and high school students from Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and Sussex Counties who will be attending an NAAB accredited Architecture School this Fall. This annual program is made possible through proceeds from our fundraising events and with the generous contributions of our annual sponsors.
Scholarship applications are now being accepted and the deadline to submit is TUESDAY MAY 12, 2026 at 5PM. All applications are available online.

The following awards are available for current college students:
Clarence Tabor Memorial Scholarship Award
Awarded to undergraduate students entering their fifth year or to graduate students, and is based on scholastic excellence, attitude toward the profession, probable success as an architect, and need for financial assistance.
Albert O. Halse Memorial Award
Awarded to undergraduate students for excellence in architectural delineation and/or architectural models.
Architects League Scholastic Achievement Award
Awarded to undergraduate & graduate students for scholastic excellence in architectural design.

The total awards money available for architectural scholarships for college students is up to $6,000. All awards are given at the committee’s discretion and amounts can vary. A check is mailed directly to the recipient’s school and only students of accredited Architecture Schools are eligible. Not sure your architecture school is accredited? Go to NAAB.org to find out.
College Students must have a permanent residence in the geographic territory of ALNNJ (Bergen County, Hudson County, Passaic County and Sussex County).
Things you’ll need to complete your application:
- Contact information including an active email address
- Your Resume / Biography. This should be a one page typed outline that lists your accomplishments and experiences relevant to this scholarship application
- Official transcript from your College
- A short essay explaining in your own words what you hope to accomplish as an architect
- Two recommendation letters, one from your school and another from a non-academic source
- Examples of your work (your portfolio) - applicants are encouraged to include diverse examples of their work; creativity in content and presentation is strongly encouraged

Eligibility: High School Seniors who live or attend high school in our geographic territory (Bergen, Hudson, Passaic & Sussex Counties) and have been accepted to an NAAB Accredited Architecture Program at a college in the United States or U.S. Territory. Not sure your architecture school is accredited? Go to NAAB.org to find out. All applications must be submitted online. Applications will remain editable until the submission deadline.
